1.
verse: nothing happens to us, maybe life is sick of us tomorrow feels insecure and I lie, capitulate and die the spring will never come again common jumping molecules will stop jumping tomorrow feels insecure and we won’t invoke posterity chorus: nobody bothers us (x3) bridge: into the silence. wrapped in cymbals into the universe our body wants to be lost into the silence. wrapped in cymbals into the universe our body wants to be lost chorus: nobody bothers us right versus wrong doesn’t matter in this nobody bothers us right versus wrong doesn’t matter in this nobody bothers us right versus wrong doesn’t matter in this nobody bothers us right versus wrong doesn’t matter in this

Sure, Burn 02:42
what would you do if a fire broke out? I have stage fright what’s to apologize about? in the attics and inside of the theresianum beaten hollow in spite of it, and you love to see it but you can’t please, won’t you crawl into the solarium please, won’t you leave us all alone now please, won’t you crawl into the solarium please, won’t you leave us all alone now please, won’t you just lie to him
3.
verse: soon you’ll have him by the neck a selfless mercy culling under a red sun do you never see the end do you never open the right one chorus: you will never see when the light fades you will never cross onto the right side your power’s lost to the night you’re always lost somewhere - anything can happen verse: a boat you’re never truly in you will never help them why won’t you write home I swear you’ll never hear the end I swore you’d never have to I swear you’ll never hear the end go leave go sleep chorus: outro: you will be forgotten soon you will be forgotten soon it won’t get any better you will be forgotten soon
4.
verse: look at their eyes, everyone see the road-side fields and smell the hunter gutting off to my left side, glowing see the houses burning you can see the rats incoming who wants a ride everyone we asked said i can’t steer the rudder chorus: i’ll fight them off, i’ll fight them with everything i’ll incinerate them like bugs, but who’s counting i’ll fight them off, i’ll fight them with everything i’ll incinerate them like bugs, and who’s going to know verse: look at their eyes, everyone knows the ice is coming you can see them huddle everything that’s literate hangs inside that tower you can see the rope cut in park the ride, park the ride (I need the answer to the lilac gunfire) i’m trying to let them cut in chorus: i’ll fight them off, i’ll fight them with everything i’ll incinerate them like bugs, and who’s going to know
5.
chorus: pull me up over the guard rail, and pull me up onto the other side lay me out in the pavilion you told me the mail came in the other night verse: all the machinery it’s the age of monologues not a soul to speak to a crowd of automatons chorus: pull me up over the guard rail, and pull me up onto the other side lay me out in the pavilion you told me that I would make it through the night bridge: purple sunrise reflected in a wall of glass purple sunrise it’s a long way to the bottom of this overpass chorus: pull me up over the guard rail, and pull me up onto the other side lay me out in the pavilion you told me that I would make it through the night outro: I am tired of this city (do what you want to do)

Shingles 05:36 video
inside out little victories where is the house we built where is it? giveth taketh inside out little victories indebted to a fake (x2) sifting through to find if there’s something of worth in this help yourself or someone else will sifting through to find if there’s something of worth in this help yourself or someone else will if it ain’t broke you’re not trying (sifting through to find if there’s something of worth in this) no one comes when they’re called I hoped for a stalemate and all I got was a forfeiture
7.
golden dreams of the afterlife I can’t believe them all glowing candles in the night you can’t ignite them all there’s no record of our permanence and we won’t let it go as we enter firmament we have no wherewithal i’m blinded, and buried you are the lion you are the lion we collide in air I can believe if I want I’m freezing and drowning you are the siren I’m blinded, and buried you are the lion to the night, to the other offset with an imprint of who I think you were to the night, on the only path to the centre of the earth
8.
intro: send him to the outpost in the darkest white firing blind into the forest, nobody answered is there no other option I’ll take you at your word, and I will not recant you you said it’s necessary what’s the verdict. what’s the damage, and who handles the papers back to the drawing board outro: you started your engine but you don’t even leave you listen to music on the car stereo it isn’t authentic but it’s enough to believe that we’re on an adventure I’ll wake you when we get there
9.
chorus: there’s no symbols, only time to kill a spectral wasteland, to roam at will, and I will verse: i wish that you could shout to the heavens i wish that you were ready for the answer i wish there was a plan for the ever after every street is empty ignore the rain i called your name but nothing you watch me like the moon and yet you walk me up onto the edge and fall chorus: there’s no symbols, only time to kill a spectral wasteland, to roam at will, and I will it’s a long road but i can’t forget it’s a long night but i can’t forget it’s a long road but i can’t forget why the sun is blackened, yet paracletic outro: it’s a long road to the end of night my prayers are never answered it’s a long road to the end of night I saw the body in the embers it’s a long road to the end of night my prayers are never answered it’s a long road to the end of night I wrote your name into the ground, but I can't remember

about

tower of quiet was written and recorded between 2019 - 2021 in a couple of different basements. all recorded sounds are by mike / the exit bags.

thanks to everyone who provided feedback during toq's constructive process.

the album's content is based on existentialism and death anxiety, and the various angles i've approached that from as i've grown as an adult. i tried to put the lowest of my depressive tendencies into sound. i don't think it's a subject that is easily romanticized, at least not for me as I approach my 30s, and i tried to avoid histrionics. it's plain-faced. less of a cathartic release, more of a pilot light. i think this is probably best listened to with headphones, seated, and left alone. but, do with it what you want.
